Voting Question: A professor told me that China has been over valueing the U.S. dollar. How do they do this?

I am doing a report on the U.S. trade deficit, and I have been told that the underlying reason the trade deficit has continued to increase is the fact that China has somehow managed to keep the value of the dollar high when compared to their domestic currency. How would they go about doing this? Most normally we would have flooded the Chinese market with tons of our dollars and our dollar should have depreciated greatly compared to.... I think its the yen maybe yaun, but they have managed to keep the value up. Maybe by stashing the dollars in banks, I don't know. If you could direct me to a helpful article or just flat out tell me I would really appreciate it. >> full story
